This talk will focus on many native plants and fungi that can be found in the Thunder Bay area as well as foraging techniques and sustainability practices!

Identification will use visual aids as well as preserved specimens to solidify the experience.

Foragers Walk
This guided tour will be approximately 1 - 1.5 hours long and will help discover, identify and learn much more about many easily found wild forgeable foods within our backyard. Please note, we do not actually harvest plants on this tour. Each tour will be slightly different as plants and mushrooms come and go, but there's always so much to see and find, we'll never run out of great specimens!

We will be hiking on easy to intermediate trails for this tour, which may be difficult for persons with accessibility requirements, please reach out to us if you have any concerns whether this tour is right for you. On this tour we will meet in the parking lot for the LPH Parking Lot at the end of Clarke Street (Off Algoma Street), where you will meet your tour guide, who will be holding a sign!

Please note this will be occurring outside on nature paths that may have lumps, bumps, rocks as well as some hills. Wear sturdy footwear, remember to bring sunscreen, bug spray, and a bottle of water!

An easy checklist for what to bring:

- Water Bottle
- Sturdy Shoes (no flip flops or flats)
