When the navigating starts: Parents coming to understand their child has autism

In this webinar, Stephen Gentles will talk about findings from his most recent publication on how parents of children with autism come to understand their child has autism. The discussion will touch on a number of themes including the value of parents’ perspectives in research, how parents' motivation for engaging in care can grow even before diagnosis, what professionals can learn from this study about family-centered care, and what value the concept of neurodiversity can have for parents.
