South – Virtual Youth Cooking Program (ages 8-17)
**Registrations opens January 31 at 12 p.m.**
Youth with ASD, ages 8 to 17, are invited to join our 5-weeks of cooking classes. They will advance their culinary skills and try new foods with this program led by Chef Anthony Go, a graduate of George Brown Chef School and an adult with ASD.
This program will be supported by volunteers from Big Spoon Lil Spoon (BSLS) McMaster & Mississauga Chapters, student-run organizations that help teach children life skills along with mentorship. BSLS volunteers will be virtually present to engage with participants while they cook. For safety reasons, caregivers are required to always be present participants during the sessions.
Each week will feature a new recipe! Once the recipes and ingredients are shared, Chef Anthony will be able to assist participants with questions about dietary restrictions.
PLEASE NOTE: families are responsible for purchasing their own ingredients BEFORE the Sunday weekly cooking session.
Registration Fee: $5.00
Online: Through Zoom, link will be sent after registration
Time: Sundays from 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Dates: February 27; March 6, 13, 20, 27 (2022)
NOTE: This program is reserved for families residing in the South Region (Niagara, Hamilton, Haldimand, Norfolk & Brant). If your postal code does not correspond within the region, we will not be able to accept you as a participant. Thank you for your understanding.
