West – Parent Workshop

**Registration will open October 5, 2020 @ 9am**
Every social situation has its own set of social rules and expectations.
Places such as church or a place or worship, sports teams, employment and work environments, grocery stores, restaurants, public transit and classrooms each have their own social expectations and rules to be followed.
There are the social do’s, the social don’ts and the untaught hidden rules that are expected to be followed.
Let’s explore what the untaught and forgotten hidden social rules are for various situations and how we can teach them to people on the autism spectrum or people who have difficulty with social cues.
Let’s try and make social situations a positive experience for our children and youth.
Outcome:
-Learn about social rules and the hidden social rules
-What are they?
-How are they learned?
-How are they taught?
-Be provided with positive support strategies to help your children and youth learn the hidden social rules
-Learn about the changing rules as the world shifts to adapt during the global pandemic
