Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)

The Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) is a social assistance program offering income and employment support to eligible Ontario residents with disabilities. ODSP income support covers living expenses like food and housing.

In addition to income support ODSP offers:

  • Health benefits such as:
    • Prescription drug coverage
    • Dental Coverage
    • Coverage for vision, glasses, hearing aids, assistive devices
    • Mandatory special necessities (for instance, diabetic supplies)
    • Special Diet allowance
    • Guide Dog benefit
    • Health benefits for people who leave ODSP
    • Transportation to medical appointments and treatments
  • Employment support to find a job or start your own business

To qualify for ODSP income support, the applicant must:

  • be at least 18 years old, be an Ontario resident, be in financial need and
  • meet the program’s definition of a person with a disability.
