Central West – Virtual Family Cooking Program all Ages (open to the Province)

Registration opens April 1 at 9:00 am.

Autism Ontario welcomes autistic families all across Ontario to join this 8-week Cooking Program led by Chef Anthony Go, a graduate of George Brown Chef School and an autistic adult. Anthony is a Chef focusing on food, recipes, and grocery shopping tips. For complete nutritional advice, please consult your healthcare professionals.

The theme for our Spring May/June 2025 program is Vegetarian. As a society, we are moving towards eating less meat and more fresh whole food and vegetables. People are consuming more whole grains and plant-based protein. There is a movement to eat less sugar, less salt, and less processed food. This is the way of the future.

I will discuss 4 kinds of vegetarian, and we will cook two dishes for each type:

1.      Flexitarian (one day a week vegetarian
2.      Pescatarian (eat fish/seafood)
3.      Lacto-ovo (eat eggs and dairy)
4.      100% Vegans (eat plant-based only)

PLEASE NOTE: families are responsible for purchasing their own ingredients.

Working alongside Big Spoon Lil Spoon (BSLS) University of Waterloo who aims to provide mentorship for people with exceptionalities and will be involved as volunteer supporting participants during their cooking hour.

Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Registration Fee: $10.0 per family (once registered, there can be no refunds). *Only register ONE PERSON for the $10.00 fee.
