Join Autism Ontario Central East Region for a fun-filled evening of swimming at the Peggy Hill Team Community Centre. Families will get the pool to themselves for 2 hour and have a chance to swim and meet other families.
Please register for this event, as spaces are limited. This event is open to autistic children, adults and their families.
Cost: $3.00/person. No Refunds. All participants must register.
Please note that this is NOT a swim lesson. Adults MUST accompany and assist their children in and out of the pool.
All participants must follow the pool rules and regulations.
Children 5 years & under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Maximum of 2 children per adult/guardian. Adults/guardians are responsible for their direct supervision and must always be in the water within arm’s reach.
Children 6-9 years old who DO pass the swim test must still have a parent or guardian in the pool enclosure. Who CANNOT pass a facility swim test (described as a non-swimmer on our pictograph): the ratio is still 2 children to each parent/guardian. If the children are all wearing a PFD the ratio can go up to a maximum of 6 children per parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must remain within arm’s reach.
Youth 10-14 years do not need a guardian, but must pass a facility swim test to swim in the deep end of the pool.
*Guardians must be 15 years of age or older
* Those with serious medical conditions (ie. Heart conditions or seizure disorders) should be accompanied by an individual knowledgeable of their condition and must communicate with staff prior to activity.
All patrons entering the pool area are required to register.
Please note that we strive to offer tickets to as many families as possible, but tickets are limited. If you are registered and can no longer attend, please let us know so we can share those tickets with other families
