Central West – Little Chess-Nuts of Guelph Chess Program Ages 8-15

Autistic children ages 8-15 are invited to join us for our pilot 6-week chess program in Guelph. Participants will enjoy the challenge of chess, learn from both victories and setbacks, and achieve personal growth and create friendships.

Chess is considered a path to growth and connection in a fun, enjoyable, and rewarding way, fostering development in key areas:
- Social skills
- Life skills
- Cognitive development
- Imagination and creativity
- Focus and patience

Each participant will receive a complimentary travel chess set for program play and for home practice.

Facilitator: Mahmud Hassain, Chess Master and Guelph Rotary Club member.

Location: Guelph Library, Eastside Branch, 1 Starwood Dr, Guelph, ON N1E 0H5

Date:  Wednesdays, January 29 to March 5, 2025

Time: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Registration Fee: $10.00 (once registered, there can be no refunds)
