Toronto Region – Discover 3D printing and 3D design with Little Robot Friends! (ages 8-13)

Autism Ontario partners with Little Robot Friends for this exciting 3D printing workshop!Choose from 1 of 3 time slots for a 90-minute 3D Printing workshop. 

Participants will learn how to design 3D objects on the computer with TinkerCAD, a beginner-friendly modeling software, as well as learning how a 3D printer works. In small groups, we’ll design personalized keychains that can be attached to backpacks, coats, and anything else to show off the skills we’ve gained. 

At the end of the session, students will receive a Makercoin - a 3D-printed badge of honor, with a unique design that celebrates their accomplishments and signifies their membership in the global maker community! The keychains will be printed after the class is finished, and mailed out to participants in 1-2 weeks’ time. 

While this is an introductory-level workshop, it will be beneficial to have a familiarity with basic computer navigation skills, particularly with using a mouse, touchscreen, and keyboard. We strongly encourage anyone with an interest in 3D printing to participate and ensure that the workshop is open and available to all! 

Computers will be provided, but if you wish to bring your own that is fine too. Just remember your power cord!

Date and time: 10-11:30am, or 12-1:30pm, or 2-3:30pm Sunday June 9th 2024. Once registered you will receive an invitation to sign up for the workshop time of your choice.
