Welcome to your Windsor Essex Autism Ontario Chapter! Our goal is to be a reliable source of information and support for all residents who have a connection to autism including families, children, adults on the spectrum, caregivers, support workers, and teachers. 

What we do: 

  • To help our community learn about ASD Chapters conduct special speakers and/or training workshops. These cover such topics as advocacy, support and the latest news in ASD research. These courses are advertised by email, facebook and our website. 
  • Works with community partners to promote and enhance awareness about autism.
  • Holds various fundraising events throughout the year, and run programs and events for individuals with ASD and their families to get involved, socialize and network.

Music therapy is the skillful use of music and musical elements by an accredited music therapist to promote, maintain, and restore mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

Music has nonverbal, creative, structural, and emotional utilities. These are used in the therapeutic relationship to facilitate contact, interaction, self-awareness, learning, self-expression, communication, and personal development.

Join us every Wednesday for online Zoom Music Therapy with Inspired Sounds Music Therapy starting November 4th - November 25th. You must register to attend - this program is free!

We have 3 age groups available: 10 and under, ages 11 to 17, and 18+

Halloween Online Dance Party

Join Autism Ontario Windsor & Inspired Sounds Music Therapy on Saturday, October 24th from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM for an online Halloween Dance Party!

Dress up in your best costumes and get ready for some spooky, Halloween fun!

This event is free to attend but you must register each person attending the party! We will send out a Zoom link before the event so keep an eye out in your e-mail.

On Wednesday, October 21st, all those who registered can stop by the AO Windsor-Essex office located at 1168 Drouillard Road in the Gino Marcus Community Centre to pick up your super awesome Halloween treat bag!

Colouring Contest
It's time for another colouring contest - this time Halloween themed! Select either of the two photos below to colour, submit your completed creation in the comment section on our Facebook page or e-mail your submission to livia.windsor@autismontario.com, and on Wednesday, October 28th, 2020, we will select the winners who will each receive a $5 Tim Hortons gift card! Good luck to all of those who participate - we can't wait to see you put your colouring skills to the test!

The Magic Mentalist Party: An Online Event with Mentalist Shawn Glover

Shawn Glover is a much-loved mentalist + magician. His interactive illusions are totally mind-boggling and keep kids and adults enthralled from start to finish. He's performed at countless private parties and charity events over the past 13 years and delivers an incredible thrill-filled show.

This is an online show - we will send out a Zoom link before the event. Please log on to the Zoom call at least 10 minutes before the show starts at 6:30 PM to ensure there are no issues!
