Provincial - Journey to Adulthood (ages 16-20)

The Journey to Adulthood Discussion Workshop (for parents and caregivers of autistic youth ages 16-20).  

A series of six discussions featuring topics relevant to the transition from youth to adulthood. Each session includes discussion and resources around specific topics on the journey to adulthood. Wednesdays, 7-830PM. October 25 - December 6, 2023.  Note that there will be no session on November 8th. 

IMPORTANT: This session is limited to parents and caregivers of youth (ages 16-20) who are currently in secondary school. 

The Journey to Adulthood Discussion Workshop is a virtual workshop open to parents and caregivers province-wide. The workshop will be presented via a virtual platform (Zoom). Participants will need access to the internet and a laptop/tablet/cell phone with video and speaker capacity.

Topics will include:

Funding (as of age 18),
Consent, capacity, and legal concerns,
Post-secondary options,
Employment,
Advocacy, and
The future.
