Central West – Guelph - Little Chess-Nuts of Guelph Chess Program

Registration opens January 5 at 12:00 pm.

Autistic children ages 8-15 are invited to join us for our 5-week chess program in Guelph. Participants will enjoy the challenge of chess, learn from both victories and setbacks, and achieve personal growth and create friendships. 

Chess is considered a path to growth and connection in a fun, enjoyable, and rewarding way, fostering development in key areas:

• Life skills
• Social Skills
• Cognitive development
• Imagination and creativity
• Focus and patience

Each participant will receive a complimentary travel chess set for program play and for home practice.

Facilitator: Mahmud Hassain, Chess master and Guelph Rotary Club member.

Location: Main Library Program Room, Guelph Public Library, 100 Norfolk Street, Guelph N1H 4J6

Date: Wednesdays, February 4 to March 4, 2026

Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Registration Fee: $25.00 (once registered, there can be no refunds)
