Children and Youth Programs

F.A.S.T (Fun, Active, Social Team!) Club: For children and youth with ASD (Ages 5-12) Participants will be divided into teams, and each night will have a “weekly goal” to meet (i.e. waiting my turn, sharing with friends, saying thank you, etc). They will participate in different stations (fine motor focus, gross motor focus, and sensory & exploration) which will seek to offer many opportunities for participants to interact with one another socially, and build their peer relationships. Adult Supports in Niagara Region

Our Regional Adult Social Club. This group is for adults 18+ who do not require 1:1 support. Monthly events are organized with the goal of having adults with ASD meet fellow members of their community and have fun taking part in events tailored to their interests.     Venez avec nous pour rayer quelque chose de votre liste de choses à faire! Dans cet atelier, nous vous présenterons trois programmes d’aide financière mis à la disposition des familles ontariennes : le Programme des services particuliers à domicile (SPD), Crédit d'impôt pour personnes handicapées (CIPH) et la Subvention des Timbres de Pâques pour l’achat de fournitures d’incontinence. L'animateur.rice vous fournira des conseils et des ressources, et répondra à vos éventuelles questions. 

     

    Cet atelier s'adresse aux parents et aux aidant.e.s naturel.le.s d'enfants et de jeunes autistes (moins de 18 ans), ainsi qu'aux professionnel.le.s qui interviennent auprès de cette population.

    Nord - Kapuskasing - La santé mentale des personnes autistes qui vivent en milieu rural et éloigné

    Description de l'événement

    Joignez-vous à Danielle Nolan (maîtrise en travail social, travailleuse sociale inscrite) et Kelsey McDaniel pour un atelier portant sur la santé mentale et le bien-être des personnes autistes qui vivent dans des communautés rurales et éloignées. Cet atelier a pour but d’aider les parents et les personnes aidantes à comprendre la santé mentale de leur proche autiste et à proposer des stratégies générales, des activités et de l'information sur ce qu’on peut faire à la maison pour promouvoir l'adaptation et une santé mentale positive.

    Monitrice : Danielle Nolan, MSW, RSW

    Danielle est la travailleuse sociale de la nouvelle équipe d’expert.e.s en la matière d’Autisme Ontario. Elle habite la région de l’Est et s’intéresse particulièrement au soutien des populations rurales. Elle a obtenu sa maîtrise en travail social à l’Université de Toronto, et fait un stage pratique au Hospital for Sick Children. Au cours des sept dernières années, Danielle a travaillé dans le domaine de la protection de l’enfance et du traitement des enfants. Plus récemment, elle était travailleuse sociale dans un centre pour l’autisme. Elle a fourni un soutien émotionnel et instrumental, tant bref que continu, à des enfants autistes et à leurs familles. 

     

     


    Kelsey McDaniel est avec Autisme Ontario depuis le printemps 2018. Son travail a principalement consisté à aider les familles d’enfants et d’adolescent.e.s autistes de la région de l’Est à naviguer parmi les services. Depuis qu’elle a assumé le rôle de coordonnatrice des programmes d’éducation, elle s’occupe surtout de la Liste des fournisseurs du POSA et du portail CommunityConnect, tout en prêtant main-forte à l’équipe de formation et d’éducation.
    Kelsey détient un baccalauréat en études sur le handicap et possède une vaste expérience des services de soutien axés sur la personne, ainsi que des services de soutien à l’emploi inclusif.
