Durham Region Young Adult Social Group

This group meets bi-weekly and is geared toward older teens and young adults aged 18-29. This is an opportunity to socialize and get out into the community. Activities may include but are not limited to games nights, movie nights, bowling, dinner outings or just hanging out and chatting. Peer facilitators are present, however individuals must be able to function independently in a public setting. This event is not suitable for those requiring 1:1 support. Adult Supports in Niagara Region

Due to COVID 19 all face to face programs have been cancelled to further notice. Our Chapter offers an Adult Social Club. This group is for adults 18+ who do not require 1:1 support. Monthly events are organized with the goal of having adults with ASD meet fellow members of their community and have fun taking part in events tailored to their interests. Welcome to your Durham Region Autism Ontario Chapter! Our goal is to be a reliable source of information and support for all Durham residents who have a connection to autism including families, children, adults on the spectrum, caregivers, support workers, and teachers. 

Children and Youth Programs

F.A.S.T (Fun, Active, Social Team!) Club: For children and youth with ASD (Ages 5-12) Participants will be divided into teams, and each night will have a “weekly goal” to meet (i.e. waiting my turn, sharing with friends, saying thank you, etc). They will participate in different stations (fine motor focus, gross motor focus, and sensory & exploration) which will seek to offer many opportunities for participants to interact with one another socially, and build their peer relationships.
