Niagara Tee Up for Autism

Autism Ontario - Niagara Region Chapter hosts a Charity Golf Tournament at Rolling Meadows Golf Club, (located at 12741 Montrose Road, Niagara Falls, ON) each year to directly benefit individuals and families with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Children and Youth Programs

F.A.S.T (Fun, Active, Social Team!) Club: For children and youth with ASD (Ages 5-12) Participants will be divided into teams, and each night will have a “weekly goal” to meet (i.e. waiting my turn, sharing with friends, saying thank you, etc). They will participate in different stations (fine motor focus, gross motor focus, and sensory & exploration) which will seek to offer many opportunities for participants to interact with one another socially, and build their peer relationships. Adult Supports in Niagara Region

Our Regional Adult Social Club. This group is for adults 18+ who do not require 1:1 support. Monthly events are organized with the goal of having adults with ASD meet fellow members of their community and have fun taking part in events tailored to their interests. Autisme Ontario invite les familles de personnes autistes de toute la province à participer à ce cours de cuisine de huit semaines dirigé par Anthony Go, chef cuisinier diplômé de la George Brown Chef School et adulte autiste.

En collaboration avec la section Université de Waterloo de Big Spoon Lil Spoon (BSLS), BSLS offre un mentorat aux personnes ayant des besoins particuliers, qui bénéficieront d’un accompagnement bénévole durant leur heure de cours.

Le programme de cours de ce printemps portera sur la planification des repas. L’objectif est de faire participer interactivement les participant.e.s au choix des ingrédients à l'aide d'un gabarit, puis de cuisiner ensemble les plats en classe. À l’issue du programme de cours, les participant.e.s pourront utiliser le gabarit et les compétences acquises en classe pour élaborer leur propre calendrier de repas.

Dans son parcours culinaire, le chef Anthony rencontre de nombreux jeunes adultes qui sont prêt.e.s à aller vivre dans leur propre appartement mais ne possèdent pas les compétences de planification de repas nécessaire pour vivre en autonomie. La planification des repas est une précieuse aptitude à la vie quotidienne. Ce programme s’adresse à tous les groupes d’âge.

À noter : Les familles auront la responsabilité de se procurer les ingrédients nécessaires.

Joignez-vous à Autisme Ontario et à WonderPhil pour ce spectacle de magie en ligne hilarant et interactif.

WonderPhil est un magicien et un animateur primé, qui ne manquera pas de faire rire tout le monde.

L’heure comprendra un spectacle de 45 minutes suivi d’une courte leçon de magie à l’aide d’articles que vous avez à la maison.
 

Pour participer à cette activité, vous devez avoir accès à la plateforme ZOOM. Un lien sera envoyé à tous les participants inscrits la journée avant l’évènement.
