Brampton- ACTIVE START-Autism Community Together through Sports (ACTTs)

Children with Autism ages 4-12+ are invited to participate in a 10 week multi-sport program. ACTIVE START is a program for individuals with ASD with increased difficulties and who generally need TA support at school. Participants will work on following group instruction, develop basic movement skills and follow a routine with visual supports. The goal is for the participant to have the physical skills and fitness ability to participate in physical activities and to have fun!
This recreational program model is developed by Special Olympics.
The program is overseen by 2 facilitators, who are IBI therapists, as well as Autism Ontario Volunteers.
This program requires caregivers to support their child and participate in the full duration of the each session for all of the weeks.
Date and Time: Monday's from 6:00-7:00PM on January 13, 20,27; February 3,10,24; March 2,9,23,30
Cost: $25.00 for 10 weeks

Spaces are limited. Pre-registration is required.
Children can only be signed up for ONE of the Peel ACTTs programs. Multiple registrations will be cancelled without notice.
This event is open to children with ASD ages 4 to 12+ years old. This is a recommended age only. If your child is slightly older and you think they suit this program, please register.
This program requires caregivers to support their child and participate in the full duration of the each session for all of the weeks.
Everyone in the gym must wear running shoes (caregivers/parents too). Please make sure your child comes prepared with the right footwear.
Children should be dressed in comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. There is a water fountain on site.
No food permitted inside the gym (this includes edible incentives).
No non-registered children (unless another adult comes with them) permitted inside the gym. Non-registered children are not permitted to use the equipment nor join the activities.
