This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our one-of-a-kind summer camp designed exclusively for autistic individuals in the Niagara Region. To honour this incredible journey, we are hosting a 25th Anniversary Appreciation Event — a meaningful celebration of community impact and support over the past two and a half decades.
For 25 years, our 7-week-long summer camp has been a vital support system for autistic individuals aged 4 and up, offering recreational, social, and life skills programming in a safe, inclusive environment. Each season, we hire 20 to 30 support staff to ensure we can provide the 1:1 or 2:1 support many campers require. This individualized support structure is what makes our camp experience truly unique, allowing us to adapt to each camper’s skill level and personal goals.
Autistic individuals and their families often face significant barriers to accessing recreational and social opportunities. Our camp was created to break down those barriers and offer meaningful engagement, skill-building, and community connection at a time of year when many autistic individuals face a loss of routine and increased isolation.
The 25th Anniversary Appreciation Event will bring together to honour long-time donors, dedicated staff, supportive families, and community champions to celebrate the past and look toward the future. Funded entirely through the generosity of our community — including long-standing funders, grantors, service clubs, and local donors — the camp is a testament to what’s possible when inclusion is at the heart of community programming.
