Alternate SEAC Representative
Please note we are looking for an Alternate SEAC Rep for KPRDSB.
This wonderful position will allow you to:
- Explore the work of public education in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
- Learn about the many programs and in-house services available for special needs students in both elementary and secondary schools.
- Participate with exciting and vivacious group of like-minded reps from a variety of associations, and administrators.
- Connect with parents on a one-to one basis.
- Hear about strategies to assist students with Autism Ontario's challenges and solutions.
- Network within the world of special needs, both as a receiver of information and contributor towards student success.
You must be a highly-motivated individual who is committed to ensuring the best education experiences are available to all student with special needs. You must also enjoy learning, sharing and laughing. You should possess a desire to help, a joy in meeting people of all walks, and a sense of humour.
Remuneration: The knowledge that you are trying to make life a little bit better for special needs students and the humility acquired by sharing a parent's sadness and the humbleness you've obtained to allow this.
Training on site will be generously provided for as long as you need.
No prior experience necessary. Just bring your heart.
SEAC meetings are held at the Board Office on Fisher Drive on the first Tuesday of every month, from September to June, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The Alternate Rep is not required to attend all meetings, but will be asked to attend when the regular rep is unavailable. It is recommended to view the SEAC schedule and to keep the dates open.

The Seeds of Hope Fund
The Seeds of Hope Fund is a one-time funding program for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder aged 18 years and older within the Peterborough Chapter catchment area. Click HERE for more information and the application. Note that the deadline for applications is March 31, 2017.

Autism Awareness Fundraiser by Realm Racing
Many thanks to the Realm Racing team who helped to raise $1077 for the chapter on Saturday, March 11.

Awareness/Craft Table - Keene Craft Show
On December 10, 2016, our Adult Social Group participated in raising $92 in funds. We had chapter awareness items, our Adult Social Group Scrapbook, various hand-knitted and crocheted items (made by Katherine, Marg and Morgan), hair-tie lollipops (made by Morgan & Joanne), glitter ornaments (for a donation - made by Morgan & Joanne), whipped mint chocolate body butter (made by Joanne), and potpourri mason jars (made by Gina) for sale.
Special thanks to Marg for making arrangements for the table at the show and for joining Morgan & Joanne for the day and to Yvonne who joined us in spirit as she was at work that day.
Annual Chapter Bowl-a-thon Fundraiser
The annual chapter bowl-a-thon was held on Sunday, October 30. Many thanks are offered to our 37 phenomenal bowlers and our incredible sponsors with their generous donations of spooktacular prizes! (Click HERE for list of sponsors.) :

Crushing for a Cause (Nurse Scrap Metal)
There was an amazing turnout on Saturday, May 28 for the very first Nurse Scrap Metal "Crushing for a Cause" in support of Autism Ontario - Peterborough! With your help, $2,134.71 was raised and 21,285 pounds of scrap metal was donated!! Special thanks goes out to AFP Towing, Junk-Bee-Gone Removal & Recycling, Country 105, Peterborough Petes, McConkey Towing & Scrap, the Nurse Scrap Metal staff, friends, and family members who came out to help and all the amazing people of Peterborough who found it in their hearts to come in on Saturday and donate to Autism Ontario. PETERBOROUGH ROCKS!
Thanks to our volunteers for raising awareness of Autism in the Peterborough Chapter area.
Autism Ontario - Peterborough was represented at the Buckhorn Craft Show on May 21-22.
We were also represented at the Kawartha Boys and Girls Club Gala on May 28.
The Dart Tournament was held at The Canadian Scottish Club on Sunday, May 15. Thanks to the 10 teams that participated, $1080 was raised for the Adult Group of Autism Ontario - Peterborough! Please see our Thank You! page to read our list of sponsors for this event.
