At The ADHD & Asperger's/ASD Centre, we help neurodivergent people find their strengths and work around their weaknesses. One of the ways we do that is with an arsenal of services to address almost every ADHD & ASD-related issue we can think of from every angle, including diagnosis, counselling, coaching, online and in person groups, video classes, and our ADHD & ASD member's lab.

Many of our clients come to us after having had negative experiences in the medical and mental health fields with practitioners who didn't understand their issues. Because of that, all of the therapists and coaches we employ are neurodivergent themselves so that they can draw on their lived experience on top of research in the field.

You'll never have to worry if we "get it" here at The ADHD & Asperger's/ASD Centre!

We are a pool of caregivers dedicated to providing a meaningful break to parents who have children and adults with complex special needs. These children/adults and their parents face extra demands, and challenges; therefore, families require time when someone else cares for these children/adults. Bluewater Respite assists families by matching their child's/adult's needs to experienced caregiver's strengths. During this meaningful break, the caregiver takes the child/adult into the community. Parents have an opportunity to spend time with their partners, other children, run errands, or just relax.

As a psychotherapist I have extensive training and experience in supporting people with Autism and I am a Certified Trauma Counsellor with the International Association of Trauma Professionals. In my experience is often imperative to understand individuals with Autism as a unique individual and how their unique needs related their Autism (e.g. interpreting social cues, sensory integration issues) are impacted by stressors within their lives, relationships and environments. This is often accomplished through a biopsychosocial model of stress. Furthermore, developing a deeper understanding of an individual’s models of processing stress and emotions are understood through a relational model of psychotherapy and a polyvagal mode of assessment. Upon developing an understanding of the individuals unique needs supports are collaboratively. developed to develop individual psychotherapeutic support and interventions (e.g. insight based approaches, mindfulness models, cognitive approaches).

At Spinnaker Psychological Services we specialize in childhood assessments; developmental, psycho-educational/diagnostic. Our training and experience are highly specialized in the areas of child development, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Intellectual Disability, Learning Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other social and emotional concerns, including anxiety, mood, and trauma. An Autism assessment may include components of a psycho-educational assessment while also looking in-depth at the individual's social communication skills, behaviours, and interests. Typically this involves some direct testing with the child, structured interviewing with the caregivers regarding their child's early development, as well as observation of the child's social and adaptive behaviour. Consultation, psycho-education and workshops are also available.
