There are many opportunities to volunteer with Autism Ontario. Whether you are looking for something casual or something more committed, there is a volunteer role suited to you. There are four main areas in which you can volunteer with Autism Ontario:
Administrative: help with mailings, thank you letters, grant writing, etc.
Events: we run events year-round, which require volunteers to keep them running smoothly
Committees: we have several ongoing and adhoc committees that meet during the year
Chapter Leadership Council (CLC)
Chapter Leadership Council (CLC):
Each Chapter of Autism Ontario has a Chapter Leadership Council, or CLC. The CLC is a dedicated group of volunteers that share their time, energy and talent to oversee the Chapter’s general operations, plan and manage activities, and strive to fulfill Autism Ontario's mission to “ensure that each individual with ASD is provided the means to achieve quality of life as a respected member of society.”
The CLC of every Chapter of Autism Ontario is required to have the following three (3) officer positions as stated in the Bylaws (2008) of the organization:
In addition to the mandatory CLC roles, other optional roles can be assigned to other CLC members. These roles are determined by the needs of the Chapter and the skills and interest of CLC members.
Whether you want to lend a hand with administrative work, help with event planning, volunteer at an event, or sit on a committee or council, we encourage you to become a volunteer and help us raise awareness of Autism and advocate for those on the spectrum!
