Children and Youth Programs

F.A.S.T (Fun, Active, Social Team!) Club: For children and youth with ASD (Ages 5-12) Participants will be divided into teams, and each night will have a “weekly goal” to meet (i.e. waiting my turn, sharing with friends, saying thank you, etc). They will participate in different stations (fine motor focus, gross motor focus, and sensory & exploration) which will seek to offer many opportunities for participants to interact with one another socially, and build their peer relationships.     Adult Supports in Niagara Region

    Our Regional Adult Social Club. This group is for adults 18+ who do not require 1:1 support. Monthly events are organized with the goal of having adults with ASD meet fellow members of their community and have fun taking part in events tailored to their interests.     Description de l’atelier :

    Cet atelier explore comment l’environnement immédiat, avec ces multiples sources de stimulations sensorielles et autres, peut susciter pour plusieurs jeunes personnes autistes ou neurodiverses la sensation d’être dérégulé. Ensemble nous tenterons de comprendre ce qui se produit dans de tels moments et comment en tant que parent, proche aidant.e ou professionnel.le, nous pouvons adopter une posture neuroaffirmative et absente de jugement afin de favoriser l’autonomie, augmenter les habiletés individuelles nécessaires pour identifier et faire valoir les besoins et soutenir un état de bien-être général.

    Kathleen Patterson

     

    Œuvrant depuis plus de 25 ans dans le domaine de la santé mentale et de la relation d’aide, Kathleen a desservi au fil des ans une clientèle diversifiée incluant les enfants, les jeunes, les adultes et les familles. Elle détient une maîtrise en psychologie de l’université Laval et un diplôme en psychothérapie et soins spirituels de l’université Wilfrid Laurier. Kathleen a travaillé de nombreuses années en milieu clinique à titre de psychothérapeute, de coordonnatrice et de gestionnaire de services spécialisés pour les 0-18 ans, et en tant que Leader en santé mentale d’un conseil scolaire. Elle occupe présentement le rôle de cheffe d’équipe clinique des services de santé mentale adulte du Centre francophone du grand Toronto et a également fondé Neuro unique, un service de consultation et de thérapie qui offre un modèle thérapeutique basé sur les approches neuroaffirmatives pour appuyer les individus s’identifiant comme étant neurodivers et leur famille.Kathleen est également parent de deux enfants autistes.

    Centre-Ouest : Soirée peinture et poterie pour adultes autistes à Guelph (en anglais)

    Description de l'événement

     

    Avis aux adultes autistes : Autisme Ontario vous propose une soirée de peinture et de poterie chez Play with Clay à Guelph!

    Le matériel nécessaire est fourni, et chaque participant.e pourra choisir parmi une vaste sélection de poteries et de peintures. Une fois votre pièce terminée, elle sera cuite au four, et vous pourrez récupérer votre chef-d’œuvre environ une semaine plus tard.

    Il s’agit d’une cette activité en petit groupe, où les participant.e.s pourront échanger avec d'autres adultes autistes pour nouer des amitiés et se soutenir mutuellement dans leur parcours. Des membres du personnel d'Autisme Ontario seront également présents sur place, pour discuter des mesures de soutien disponibles.

    Cette activité s’adresse aux adultes autistes de 18 ans et plus qui n’ont pas besoin d’un soutien individuel (le soutien individuel n’est pas fourni, mais des membres du personnel seront présent·e·s pour inscrire les participant·e·s; ces membres du personnel resteront pendant toute la durée de l’activité). Si une personne a besoin de soutien, une personne de soutien ou un·e aidant·e peut assister à l’activité.
