For the past several years, Autism Ontario has been engaged in consultations to assess the structure and needs of our growing organization. As part of this process, we have regionalized the communities of: Peel, Halton, Waterloo, Wellington, Hamilton-Wentworth, and surrounding areas.
The regional model is focused on increasing community engagement in each local area to produce greater consistency and availability of program, services, and events for individuals with ASD and their families in Central West.
This is accomplished with the support of a regional oversight committee, supported by volunteers in each of the five areas. Selected members will help provide overall leadership, alongside provincial staff. In addition, local sub-committees will be developed for volunteers to engage with to help drive the conversations around key areas including events/programs, fundraising, advocacy, adult supports, and much more!
