Celebrate the Spectrum this World Autism Day!

Celebrate the Spectrum is an opportunity for positive action to provide spaces of support and advocacy for our diverse communities — while learning about autism and how we can all make our communities better and more inclusive places for autistic people.

Each April, people from across Ontario come together to show their support for autistic people. Join the fun and Celebrate the Spectrum with us on World Autism Day on April 2 and throughout the month of April.

Why Tie-Dye?

The tie-dye concept symbolizes the individuality of all autistic individuals, just as each shirt is one-of-a-kind, so too is every person on the autism spectrum. This is another way to bring the community together to show their support for the autistic community. This led to our slogan for the campaign “Endless Possibilities in Every Pattern”!

What About Colours?

We celebrate World Autism Day using the colours red, blue, and green.

Red symbolizes the unique journeys of navigating an autism diagnosis — love, determination, courage and relief, as well as the urgency to take action and advocate for meaningful change.

Blue represents hope, resilience, and the power of support. It also reflects the acceptance, trust, and understanding that help autistic individuals and their families thrive.

Green signifies growth, vibrancy, and living one’s best life, highlighting the opportunities that come with acceptance and inclusion.

What's happening on World Autism Day across Ontario?

Across the province, municipalities big and small, are flying flags for our “Celebrate the Spectrum - World Autism Day” campaign. An excellent opportunity for municipalities to show their support to autistic individuals across Ontario, we are forever grateful for the 160+ municipalities who are recognizing World Autism Day through flag raisings, proclamations and illuminations!

Get involved in your community -- join us at one of our flag raisings on April 2nd!
