The MacDonald Family Post-Secondary Education Scholarship is for students with a parent on the autism spectrum who are entering the first year of a post-secondary program. Autism Ontario’s newest scholarship is named after Carole Ann MacDonald and her family. Ms. MacDonald was the first member of the Board of Directors of Autism Ontario who has a diagnosis of ASD.
This annual award is in recognition of the achievements of students who are children of a person with ASD. Each award is for a total of $500. To qualify, the candidate must currently live in Ontario and be accepted in first year in any level of a postsecondary institution (e.g. college program including apprenticeships, university, post-graduate) in Canada. The successful candidate will receive their award after Autism Ontario receives proof of registration in first year of a post-secondary institution.
NOTE: Students may apply as often as they wish as long as they are entering the first year of a post-secondary program. A person may only be an Autism Ontario scholarship recipient once.
