Central East - Wasaga Beach - Wasaga Beach Discovery Program

This program is intended for families in the Central East Region (Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland, Durham, York, Simcoe, Grey-Bruce). Priority will be given to families in this region. If you register and live outside this region, your registration will be cancelled.

Join Autism Ontario Central East Region for a tour of the Nancy Island Historic Site at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park! Children alongside their parent/ guardian will be guided on a personalized tour from a costumed interpreter as they discover what life was like as a sailor on board HMS Nancy during the War of 1812. Facilities include a fully accessible Welcome Centre as well as a partially accessible museum and theatre. The program will include a tour of the historic site as well as a sensory station and opportunities for free play activities. 

Families are encouraged to pack a picnic and explore the park after the program, with other families in your community.

This event is open to registration for autistic individuals and their family. Please register for this event, as spaces are limited.

Time: 10:00 AM

Location: Nancy Island Historic Site & Welcome Centre, 119 Mosley Street, Wasaga Beach (located across from 3rd Street N.)

Cost: $5.00/family. Limit 5 per family. 1 vehicle per family. Once registered and paid, refunds will not be issued. 

Parent/Caregiver supervision is required. This is not a transfer of care event. The parent/caregiver is required to remain onsite.

Please note that we strive to offer tickets to as many families as possible, but tickets are limited. If, for any reason, you are registered and can no longer attend, please let us know so we can share those tickets with other families.
