Provincial - Photovoice Inspired Project
** Registration opens February 13 2024 @12PM **
Join Autism Ontario in this wonderful 5 week project where we get to explore what the community and world around means to you. This program is meant to hear the voices of autistic children and youth, however caregivers/guardians are expected to stay as well.
Photovoice is a project that allows participants the opportunity to represent themselves and their story by documenting, reflecting and communicating issues of concern to prompt positive social change. We are looking for 25 autistic children and youth between 8-17 years old to participate in this special 5 week Photovoice inspired project. The theme around this project is all about community and how that impacts how we see the world.
As this is a special project, it is expected that families show up for the full 5 weeks. Each week, sessions are 90 minutes in length where they get to explore the different themes. At the end of the 5 weeks, families are given an opportunity to display their favourite 2 photographs at an art gallery for a province wide event on World Autism Awareness Day.
Once you have registered, please use this link to fill out the form: https://forms.gle/Z8A9fmE8dS7eQdYV8
Please note, that because this is a special project, the group will be kept small, so space is extremely limited.
In order to participate in this event, you will need to be able to access the ZOOM platform; a link will be emailed to all registered participants the day before the event.
Cost: $10 per child. If you require financial assistance to attend this event, please e-mail kim.tran@autismontatio.com prior to registration.
