Toronto – Relaxed Performance (Why Sci-Fi?)
*** Registration opens February 7 2023 @ 10AM ***
Join Autism Ontario at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) as we blast off with a cosmic musical exploration of why the thrill and wonder of science fiction never cease to capture our imaginations. This one-hour relaxed performance will be a great and informal way to introduce the family to the works of John Williams, Holst and Debussy.
What are relaxed performances?
Relaxed performances are intended to be sensitive and welcoming to neurodiverse audiences and those who simply want a more relaxed concert experience.
Conveniently located right across the street from St Andrew’s station, families will get to experience this very casual concert in a well lit room, with accessible seating.
Parking and travel costs will be covered by families.
If you need the accessible seating, please email Kim at kim.tran@autismontario.com as soon as you have confirmed your registration as these seats are also limited. All seating will be on the main floor.
- If families need to move around, express themselves vocally, leave the concert hall, or take a break in the quiet room, they are welcome to.
- Three rows of seats at the back of the hall will be kept empty should guests wish to move away from the sound of the Orchestra on stage.
- Families will have access to a quiet room furnished with comfortable seating, stress-relieving fidgets, and relaxing activities.
- The TSO will provide other resources, such as sound-dampening headphones, that can be signed out before the concert and returned afterward.
