North Region - Virtual Four Day Course: Safety for Independent Living (Teens & Adults)

Autism Ontario is pleased to offer online safety courses facilitated by Safety Tree Canada.

Join us for the Safety for Independent Living course. This safety program empowers people with tools to make confident choices and live a safe life. 

Topics from this course include:

• Basic Human Rights
• People Safety
• Tricky People
• Bullying and Peers
• At Home Safety
• Online Safety
• Travel Safety
• Fire Safety
• First Aid

Each session will include interactive discussion, games, videos and hands-on learning followed by at-home learning approximately 20-30 minutes per session. The Safety for Independent Living manual and certificate of participation will be provided to all participants upon successful completion of the course.

Thursday, August 25, 2022   5:30 - 7:30 PM 

All Safety Tree instructors must go through in depth training and are qualified to work within the local School Boards either as trained Teachers, Developmental Service Workers, Educational Assistants or Early Childhood Educators. They have up-to-date police checks and First Aid/CPR training.

Manuals will be delivered to your home address, so please ensure we have your up-to-date information. Your address, name, and phone number will be shared with them for the purpose of delivery.

In order to participate in this event, you will need to be able to access the ZOOM platform; a link will be emailed to all registered participants the day before the event.      

The event is for residents of the North region only.
