Toronto - Virtual Photography Session ages 8-13

Registration is closed for this event

Teaching Autistic Youth to communicate and express themselves through photographs.

For Children with Autism 8-13: In this interactive online photography workshop,  kids will explore how to communicate with images. They will learn the techniques good photographers use to create compelling and visually interesting pictures. They will learn about vantage points (composition and perspective); how to best capture elements of design (lines, colour, shape, pattern, texture); and all about the role of light in creating images with emotion, mood, and storytelling potential. The goal of this is to introduce young participants to the benefits of photography as a fun, creative and skill-building practice that strengthens self-confidence, creative thinking, problem-solving and authentic visual expression.

  • Will include in-session timed challenges that will encourage participants to take photos to show, share, reflect and discuss with the group.
  • Activities are designed to be able to be modified per participants’ ability levels.
  • Participants need access to Zoom and a digital device eg. Phone or tablet

This event is exclusive to families in Toronto. Registrations outside this area will not be accepted.

In order to participate in this event, you will need to be able to access the ZOOM platform; a link will be emailed to all registered participants the day before the event.
