Humans are complex mammals that feel a variety of emotions and each person feels and expresses them in different ways. We need to use various coping tools to manage our emotions and find ways to release them. Research shows that people with Autism Spectrum Disorder have deficits in the executive functioning part of the brain that helps to control and regulate these emotions. Join us as we learn some positive support strategies on how to teach our young people about the emotions they are feeling, how to work through them and how to find strategies for their coping toolbox.

Outcomes:

-Learn why emotions and self regulation are difficult for people with ASD

-Learn ways to help our young people identify various emotions in their body

-Explore positive support strategies to help people with ASD work through their emotions and learn to self regulate
