Are you looking for something fun and different to do during April Break? Why not take advatange of the Spring weather in a fun and educational way?

We are excited to partner with Pinnguac to offer the ‘Learn on the Land Environmental Stewards Kit’ for families! The goal of the kit is to teach children about our responsibilities towards our environment. This unique program offers families the opportunity to get outside while also using coding skills to learn more about the environment around them.

The kit includes seven activities using a micro-bit and enviro-bit:

  • Name Badge Activity
  • Compass North – code a compass into the Micro-bit
  • Species Counter – learn about the species near you and track them using the micro-bit
  • How Cold is it? – Make a micro-bit to sense temperature and display on a screen
  • Learn about Weather and Air-pressure
  • Find out how noisy your environment is and learn about noise pollution
  • Challenge Compass activity
