Children ages 12-15 with ASD, along with their parents/caregivers are invited to Scratch Coding Sessions virtually
Spaces are limited. Pre-registration is required.
Program Description: In this class, participants will work with instructors from Wiz Kid Coding to learn to code and build amazing Digital games that they can share with family and friends! This class is perfect for children who are new to coding or have never coded before!
Learning Goals:
Introduction to Coding
Learn how to design, code, and publish your own Computer Game
Build Problem Solving, Creativity, and Critical Thinking Skills
Technology Requirements:
Participants will need the following materials for this class:
Computer or Chromebook with a microphone and video camera
Free Scratch Account. You can create an account at https://scratch.mit.edu/join
Zoom Video Conferencing Software (on the same computer that they will be using Scratch)
Optional: Computer Mouse
Tablets and Phones are not compatible with this class
Prerequisites: This program is an introductory class, however, children should have basic computer and typing skills in order to have the best class experience. This includes skills like knowing how to use their keyboard, identifying letters on their keyboard, and knowing how to use their mouse (right click and left click).
Notes:
Proof of child age may be required. Please be prepared.
I understand that this event is for children with ASD, ages 12-15 only, and proof of age may be required.
I understand that registration information will be shared with WizKid Coding, who will be facilitating the sessions.
