East – Teen Workshop Series (Part 1) – Autism Spectrum Disorder & Self-Care in Adolescence
This workshop is in partnership with Developmental Disabilities Consulting Program (DDCP) and Autism Ontario.
Puberty changes bring new challenges for all children and youth. Adolescence living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often face unique challenges when building and learning self-care skills. Meg McQueen, Occupational Therapist will briefly explore functional strategies to support those looking to improve independence in self-care.
Some areas of focus will include:
- Understanding basic hygiene practices & social norms
- Supporting independence & managing expectations
- Learning about equipment & tools
This session will occur via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent out to all participants via e-mail the day prior to the workshop.
