This workshop aims to empower Black caregivers in advocating in various settings. Participants will learn the tools and resources to advocate in environments such as school, community spaces, engaging with policy as well as managing stress.

*This virtual workshop is designed to address the diverse experiences and challenges of Black caregivers and hopes to provide a space where caregivers can come together to discuss their unique experiences

Speaker Bio

Ben Bukuru - Autism Ontario Peel Service Navigator

Ben has worked in various roles within the mental health/autism field with the first few years in direct care and pre-vocational services. He then worked for 8 years as a Case Coordinator and 3 years as an Autism Consultant. Ben loves to travel and experience different people, sceneries, cultures, foods, artifacts, and histories. His most awe-inspiring experience was his 2014 visit to the Great Egyptian Pyramids in Giza.
