North-Mindfulness Workshop

This workshop is intended for caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder who are interested in learning the importance of self-care when supporting children on the spectrum. Participants will learn about how mindfulness and being in the “here and now” can help to reduce the negative impact of stress and to improve various aspects of one’s life. The workshop will focus on increasing knowledge about the core components of mindfulness and various practical ways that mindfulness can be applied and practiced.
Participants will learn strategies such as, but not limited to, deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation,
visualization and guided imagery, and self-compassion.
The 2-hour workshop will be followed by a 1-hour period for Questions and Answers.
