Hamilton-8 Week Cooking Program for kids with ASD
Registration Opens September 16 at 9:00AM
Families in Hamilton are invited to participate in 8 weeks of Cooking Class program. This program will be supported and run by Big Spoon Lil Spoon-Hamilton. Each week will feature a new recipe, and children will be able to learn new skills supported by a student mentor.
Big Spoon Lil Spoon is a student-run organization offering children/youth opportunities to learn skills to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle. Big Spoon Lil Spoon provides 1:1 mentorship during programs to both build and sustain friendship, develop social skills, and help children with intellectual disabilities develop skills.
Cost:
Participation in this 8 week cooking program is free.
Notes:
This program is open to children/youth with ASD ages 7-21 years of age.
Spaces are limited. Registration is required.
Participation at all 8 weeks of the program is strongly encouraged. Please consider this prior to registering.
Your son/daughter will be paired with a Big Spoon (university student volunteer) to participate alongside them for 8 weeks. Parents are asked to complete the “Mentor Match” Form so that Big Spoon Little Spoon organization can best match your child with a mentor.
