Timmins - Transition to Employment for Youth and Young Adults (ages 14 plus)

Transition to Employment workshop where youth and young adults are given the necessary information and tools to help them make important decisions for their transition to employment.  Learning about volunteerism, employment, careers and community supports to help prepare for their future and long-term success. This workshop will help prepare youth before they decide they want to work helping them transition to independence. Preparing, planning and understanding what is needed for your future success in the workplace.  Topics to be covered:

1- Managing your portfolio

2- Volunteerism 

3- Networking 

4- Informational Interviews

5- Communication and Accommodations

6- Workplace Etiquette

Barbara Conlon-McGillis is Director of Operation, TLC for Brighter Futures

She is highly motivated, self-directed and goal-oriented individual with a proven track record at meeting and exceeding sales and program targets.  Excellent and outstanding customer service with clients, business and community partners.  Strong leadership skill with the ability to motivate and give positive reinforcement. She has over 12 years of experience with providing employment services and learning initiatives.
