Central East - Kleinburg - McMichael Family Accessible Art Workshops (7 yrs+)

This program is intended for families in York Region, made possible by our generous partners at Bingo World and Gaming Richmond Hill. If you register and live outside of York region your registration may be cancelled.

Offered in partnership with Autism Ontario, the McMichael Family Accessible Art Workshops are designed to engage budding artists living with autism spectrum disorder and their siblings into enjoyable art and nature explorations and creative studio activities. During each two-hour workshop, led by experienced gallery educators, participants are encouraged to explore, discover,
and create art at their own comfortable pace, while enjoying social interaction in a relaxed and nurturing environment.

Week 1 - Colour Studio: Scratch Painting and Texture Collaging

Week 2 - Nature Studio: Tree Exploration and Nature Sketches

Week 3 - Printmaking Studio: Printmaking Extravaganza!

Week 4 - Sculpture Studio: Shape it, Sculpt it – let’s create 3-D art together!

Each family will also receive ONE Family Pass to enjoy the McMichael at leisure on the day of the program, or any other day of their choice.

This event is open to autistic children and their siblings, ages 7 and up. Maximum 3 children per family.

Dates: Sundays, May 4, 11, 18, 25

Cost: $20.00/child. Once registered and paid, refunds will not be issued.

Parent/Caregiver supervision is required. This is not a transfer of care event. The parent/caregiver is required to remain onsite.

Due to the limited class size, we ask that participants who register can attend all four weeks.

Please note that we strive to offer tickets to as many families as possible, but tickets are limited. If, for any reason, you are registered and can no longer attend, please let us know so we can share those tickets with other families.
