North – Timmins – Sensory Explorative Play Program for children 8-12 years old

Join Autism Ontario at Timmins Fitness Alternatives for a Sensory Explorative Play Program!

Dates for 8-12 years old:
November 15th and November 29th 
Time: 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm 

Timmins Fitness Alternatives is excited to partner with Autism Ontario to offer Sensory Explorative Play sessions to the community. The essence of these sessions will combine both free explorative play with our various apparatus that hang from the ceiling (hammocks, swings & more), our giant foam pit, our bouncy airtricks mat, or numerous hanging ninja obstacles and much more and easy interactive games. Our goal with these sessions is to provide a more sensory-friendly and accommodating learning/play environment to have neurodivergent needs met so that we can give the youth a good experience in our facility.

Timmins Fitness Alternatives has the trained staff to engage and assist in a neurodivergent youth's exploration and we have been running sensory-friendly open gyms for the last 2 years and recently ran a very successful Neurodivergent camp week across our 3 locations. We do still ask however that caretakers and parents remain at the facility during the sessions and assist when needed. What we do best that seems to really engage all youth and maintain a positive environment of play is utilizing themed unforgettable experience adventures in the games we run which brings into real-life the characters and scenarios from their favorite video games, tv shows and movies such as Minecraft, Mario Bros, Pokémon and many more.
