Central East - Whitby - STEAM Program (8 yrs - 12 yrs)

Join us for a fun, 4 week program where children will cultivate a passion for STEAM subjects through hands-on activities, experiments, and real-world applications. Participants will will dive into topics like cooking, coding, engineering, science and much more! 

Week 1: Science - Participants will explore and experiment to have a blasting experience. They'll mix and measure materials to learn about chemical reactions.

Week 2: Art - Participants will have new opportunities to think, explore and create. They will use familiar media in new ways as well as learn exciting new art techniques.

Week 3: Culinary - Participants will learn cooking techniques, explore diverse cuisines, and have a scrumptious time developing their culinary skills. Participants will learn all about the science of cooking and culinary chemistry and put themselves to the test by trying new and exciting recipes while learning about chemistry concepts.

Week 4: Engineering - Participants will immerse themselves in hands-on activities as they challenge themselves to be creative in repurposing preexisting objects into new creations.

This program is for autistic individuals 8 yrs - 12 yrs old. This is not a transfer of care program. Parents are required to stay onsite.

Due to the limited class size, we ask that participants who register can attend all four weeks.

Dates: Mondays, September 16, 23, 30 and October 7

Location: IDEA Lab Kids, 72 Baldwin St #202, Whitby, ON L1M 1A3

Cost: $25.00/person. Once registered and paid, refunds will not be given.

Please note that we strive to offer tickets to as many families as possible, but tickets are limited. If, for any reason, you are registered and can no longer attend, please let us know so we can share those tickets with other families.
