Brampton-10 Week Martial Arts Program for Kids with ASD (Higher Needs-Parental Participation Required)

Children with ASD, ages 6 and up, are invited to attend 10 weeks of private karate classes in Brampton at the Academy of Martial Arts. Classes are fun, active and designed to develop focused defensive skills, which promote confidence. This program will focus on the specific needs of the group.
Students will learn:
- Focus
- Anti-bullying and how to avoid a bad situation
- Standing self defence and ground self defence.
- Self-confidence
This is a program for individuals with ASD with increased difficulties. Parents MUST participate with their children in this group one-on-one.
Program Dates
Sundays from 10:30-11:20AM on October 6, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17, 24; December 1, 8, 15. Participation in all 10 weeks is highly encouraged.
Program Cost
The Academy of Martial Arts Brampton have extended preferential pricing to Autism Ontario families. This 10 week program is being offered at an extremely low $180.80. Payment is to be made directly to the AMA program, but pre-registration with Autism Ontario is required.
Registration Drop-In Date; September 20, 2019 from 4:00-7:00PM
Academy of Martial Arts has organized a drop-in date for families participating in the 10 week program! Families are able to drop off their registration form, pay for the 10 week program, visit the studio, pick-up their uniform, and meet the instructors. If you aren’t able to make this date, please contact cpercival@amadojo.com to make alternative arrangements. Participants must complete this requirements to participate on the first day.

Spaces are limited. Pre-Registration with Autism Ontario is required.
Supervision of children/youth at this program is the sole responsibility of parents/guardians and caregivers; childcare will not be provided. Caregivers must remain present during the program.
Siblings are not allowed to be in the dojo classroom, and are not be left unattended in the waiting room. If you will be bringing a sibling to wait with an accompanying adults, please ensure that the sibling is not interrupting or distracting the karate class.
