What are examples of programs that qualify for summer support funding?
The summer camp support fund is intended to help parents in funding support workers so that their children and youth can attend a community program during the summer. This is typically described as a summer camp or summer program. Key words that describe eligible programs include: camp, community, recreational, social learning, summer time.

Can I fax in the documents for quicker service?
You can fax in the application and diagnosis, however you must mail in an original receipt from your one-to-one worker. Reimbursement will occur once all three items (proof of diagnosis, original receipts [signed, paid in full receipt from worker] and signed application) are received.

My child does not require a one-to-one worker, can I use the funds to pay for the camp/program?
No. Funds can only be used for one-to-one support workers.

Do I have to pay the one-to-one worker up-front?
Yes. Please ensure that you request an original receipt.

Is there a deadline for submitting the application?
Yes, the deadline is September 15, 2008.

What is the age range?
Up to age 18.

What if my one-to-one support worker fee is included in the camp fee?
Please ensure that your child’s camp issues you a receipt that lists the camp fee and one-to-one support worker fees separately.

Do I need to be a member of Autism Ontario to access this funding?
No.

If you have more applications than funding allows, how will you determine who is reimbursed?
To ensure families across Ontario benefit from the 2008 Summer Camp Support Fund, we have reserved 5 reimbursements in each of Autism Ontario's 30 chapter areas, for a minimum of 150 families served. The remaining reimbursements will be made on a first come, first serve basis for those families submitting complete applications (proof of diagnosis, original receipts and signed application).
