SPRING ACM- Annual Chapter Meeting

Chapter Leadership Council Elections -

Thursday May 22, 2014 at 7pm

Location:
Fortino's
60 Quarry Edge Dr (Hwy 10 and Bovaird Dr), Brampton, ON L6V 4K2

see flyer

The Peel Chapter would like to remind members and the community that we will soon be looking for new additions to our board of directors, the Chapter Leadership Council (CLC).

The Chapter Leadership Council (CLC) is elected by chapter members (in good standing thirty (30) days prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The CLC members are responsible for the direction and management of the chapter. You may nominate yourself. Elections are held at our AGM each spring and positions are for a one year term.

CLC members are responsible for acting in the best, long-term interests of Autism Ontario - Peel Chapter and its community.

You don't have to have a personal connection to someone with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but you do have to have the passion to help this organization move forward, and to improve our community.  You must also have a membership with Autism Ontario.  If by chance, your membership has expired, you can renew at the AGM.

For more information about what it takes to be on the CLC, please email: peel@autismontario.com or go to our website at: www.autismontario.com/peel

We also have non-voting positions available (called Members at Large) to those who would like to be involved with advocacy, events and/or the organization of the Chapter but who do not want to run for a voting position. Please express your interest to peel@autismontario.com

Many of you know that Autism Ontario Peel is run solely by volunteers. Currently we have only 3 voting CLC members but with a Chapter this large, we need to have more members on the CLC.

Without your help, we will not be able to continue offering the events and tireless advocacy efforts that we have been offering. As most of us are parents ourselves, we know how precious your time is...but if we all help a little, we can keep this Chapter going strong!

Please join us!  If you are interested, please fill out our Nomination Form (you can nominate yourself), click here

Please mail forms into address on form or email form to: autismpeel.media@gmail.com

We also have Guest speakers coming that night!
-Project Lifesaver Peel, "Helping to track those that are at risk of wandering."
-Kinark Outdoor Centre, summer camp options

Thank you...hope to see you all there for a great night!

Please register for the ACM here

*Remember that to vote you must be a member in good standing, 30 days prior to the ACM.  If you are not sure if your membership is up to date, you can contact:

Support Our Fundraiser!

"Greepers give children the independence of wearing shoes with laces without the difficulty of them becoming untied. They also provide better support than Velcro or elastic laces as they utilise traditional nylon laces and support the feet properly, unlike elastic.
They have the backing of occupational therapists and physiotherapists and are used by athletes to aid their performance rather than elastic alternatives".
