Autism Ontario Peel SENSORY FRIENDLY MOVIE MORNING: MINIONS

This event is being part sponsored by the Potential Programme and Autism Ontario Peel

We will have exclusive use of the theatre and have lights and sound adjusted for sensory differences....and the best part, if you need to get up and move around or need to stim, it is totally ok.

We will have Autism awareness items available and membership forms on hand.

Famous People Players Theatre - Under the Big Top Lunch Show

Sat Sept 26 from 11:30-3 pm 

Location: Famous PEOPLE Players, 343 Evans Avenue, Toronto, ON M8Z 1K2

Everyone loves a circus!!!

The acrobats, the cotton candy, the animals, especially the elephants.  The music will have you singing & dancing all the way home!!

Bring out the whole family for a lunch theatre at the Famous People Players perfomarnce of Under the Big Top

We will have a block of seats together for the event. 

Schedule:

1:30 am   - Doors Open
12:00 pm - Lunch is served in the dining room
1:00 pm   - Performance - you will be escorted to the Phil Collins Theatre
2:00 pm   - Dessert, coffee and tea are served back in the dining room

Halloween at Downey's Farm

Sun Oct 25 from 11-3 pm

***Check-in on the day of the event will be from 11am - noon.  Please arrive during this time.  You are welcome to stay past 3 pm should you choose to.

Costumes are encouraged!

Families are invited to celebrate Halloween at Downey's Farm!

We will have exclusive use of the party room from 12:15pm-2:15pmwhere the pumpkins will be available to take home and the following food will be served:

Choice of: pop  /  water
Choice of: pumpkin donuts / gluten-free cookie
Choice of: hot dog  /  sausage  /  veggie dog

Registration is required for all people who will attend.  Children 3 and under are free and children and caregivers 4 and up are $8.38 each.

Potential Programme

Autism Ontario Peel ACTTs:

Peel Autism Community Together through Sports 

Using the recreation model developed by the Special Olympics, Peel ACTTs will feature Active Start (6-7pm), FUNdamentals (7-8pm) programs for individuals with ASD.

ACTIVE START (from 6-7pm) is a beginner program for individuals with ASD with increased difficulties. Participants will work on following group instruction, develop basic movement skills and follow a routine with visual supports. The goal is for the participant to have the physical skills and fitness ability to participate in physical activities and to have fun! ***Suggested age  - 4 to 12 years old***

FUNdamentals (from 7-8pm) is an advanced program for children with ASD who are able to follow group instructions. The participant learns physical literacy; the more fundamental motor skills necessary for activities and sports.  The intention is for individuals to participate in school and organized physical activities with confidence. The participants will also learn to interact with one another (team environment) and have fun! ***Suggested age - 6 to 12 years old ***  

Both programs are overseen by 2 facilitators, who are trained IBI therapists, as well as Autism Ontario Volunteers.

Children should be dressed in comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. There is a water fountain on site. 

Spaces are very limited limited.

Notes:

*The cost is FREE.  However, due to high interest in this program, a $50 deposit is required.  This deposit will be returned to all who attend a minimum of 6 weeks of the program.  Please bring the deposit on the first date - cash or cheque.

*Children can only be signed up for ONE program.

*These programs require caregivers to remain present and participate in the full duration of the each session for all 8 weeks.

iConnext is a group for individuals aged 15-18 yrs. with AS or HFA who would like to get together once a month for fun and activities.
