Halloween at Downey's Farm with AO Peel

Oct 30 from 11 am until closing

Families are invited to celebrate Halloween at Downey's Farm!

Activities will include:

Sandbox
Pirate ship
Monster truck
Pedal cart track
Goat mountain slide
Live entertainment
Puppet shows
Children's boo barn
Corn maze
Inflatables

Costumes are encouraged!

We will have exclusive use of the party room from 12:15pm-2:15pm where the pumpkins will be available to take home and the following food will be served:

Choice of: pop / water
Choice of: pumpkin donuts / gluten-free cookie
Choice of: hot dog / sausage / veggie dog

Check-in on the day of the event will be from 11am - noon. Please arrive during this time.

Autism Ontario Peel ACTTs: (Peel Autism Community Together through Sports) Sports Readiness Program ACTIVE Start

Using the recreation model developed by the Special Olympics, Peel ACTTs will feature the ACTIVE START - BEGINNER program for individuals with ASD.

ACTIVE START (from 6-7pm) is a beginner program for individuals with ASD with increased difficulties and who generally need TA support at school. Participants will work on following group instruction, develop basic movement skills and follow a routine with visual supports. The goal is for the participant to have the physical skills and fitness ability to participate in physical activities and to have fun! 

***Suggested age - 4 to 12 years old*** This is a recommended age only.  If your child is slightly older and you think they suit this program, please register.

*This program requires caregivers to support their child and participate in the full duration of the each session for all 10 weeks.

The program is overseen by 2 facilitators, who are trained IBI therapists, as well as Autism Ontario Volunteers.


DATES: Monday, Oct 3, 17, 24, Nov 7, 14, 21, 28, Dec 5, 12, 19 / 2016 from 6-7 pm

LOCATION: Conestoga Public School, 300 Conestoga Dr., Brampton, ON L6Z 3M3

COST:  *The cost is FREE.  However, due to high interest in this program, a $50 deposit is required.  This deposit will be returned to all who attend a minimum of 8 weeks of the program and will be returned at the last class only.  Please bring the deposit on the first week - cash or cheque please. If you are not attending the first class, please email autismontariopeel.joanne@gmail.com to make alternative arrangements ahead of time.  If this is not done, your spot will not be held.

Horseback Riding
Sunday Sept 25, 2016 from 2-4 pm

There will be three activities the children will cycle thru during this event:
- Animal Care (brushing, feeding, safety around horses, etc.)
- Pony/Horse rides in the arena - helmets included
- Hay ride - tour the ranch on a hay ride
 

Caregivers will be required to assist their children thru the rotation of the activities listed above.  Please be prepared to help!
