About Us
York Region Chapter formed in 1987 and is one of 29 chapters of Autism Ontario. We are a grass-roots organization, directed and managed by a dedicated parent volunteers. We are the parents of children, youth and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorders, our extended family members and the professionals who support us. The YRC office receives no government funding. All chapter administrative functions are supported by volunteers, donations from our community and our fundraising intiatives.

Mission: To ensure that each individual with ASD is provided the means to achieve quality of life as a respected member of society

How We Organize Ourselves
Chapter Leadership Council
Your CLC is elected by chapter members and is responsible for the direction and management of your chapter. Any chapter member in good standing 30 days prior to our Annual General Meeting may be nominated for election to the CLC. Elections are held at our AGM each spring and positions are for a one year term. CLC members are contacted through the chapter office.

- Red is for the initial feeling of helplessness, frustration, and anger when autism is determined
