Request for Adults with Autism and their Guardians

To

Participate in Research

You are invited to participate in research on how face-to-face and Internet-based self-help groups are useful for individuals with autism and their families. This research study is designed to gain insight into the best self-help group practices for adults with autism. It will explore the self-help group experiences of adults with autism and their families. This research will help to identify how agencies with websites can be helpful. Your positive and negative experiences will be welcomed. You can suggest the self-help group functions that individuals with adults find positive. You can make recommendations for improvement.

If you are between 13 and 50 years of age and have autism and are interested in being interviewed, please contact or have your family or guardian contact Dr. Irene Carter at Email icarter@uwindsor.ca or Telephone 519-551-0045.  The interview will take about ninety minutes and a small honorarium of $30.00 will be given to each individual with autism who participates. When you contact Dr. Carter, she will schedule an interview with you and your family or guardian in your home at a time convenient for you.
