Friday August 1 to Monday August 4 - Ruggerfest -International Rugby Tournament & Beer Festival – at Centennial Park in Amherstburg. Come and experience the fun and excitement as amateur teams of men and women from around the world compete for the title of champions. Events such as rugby workshops for beginners, international food and beer tasting tents will be open to the public for a fee. Wednesday August 6 -Pasta Dinner - at the Caboto Club from 4:30 to 8:00. We are the hosts for the evening so we will need volunteers and baked goods. There will be rolls, salad, pasta with meat sauce & Pasta with tomato sauce and coffee or tea. Take out orders are $8.00 Eat in: Adults-$7.50, Children: 5 to 10-$5.00, Under 4 –Free. Please call the office at 250-1893 if you can come and help or if you can provide us with some baked goods.
Sunday August 17 – Ultimate Car Rally for Autism – consists of 24 cars that will follow driving instructions as well as collect clues, answer questions and perform skill activities at designated check points. The rally is won by skill and wit not speed. There is an After-Party with a tent, live band, cash bar, games, door prizes, 50/50 draw, trophies and cash prizes but to find the party you have to follow the clues along the way. If you want to come to the dinner only for $25.00 you can pick up a map after 3 pm at a rally checkpoint on the day of the event. We are still in need of sponsors or donations for the raffle prizes. Tickets go on sale June 1st. Contact car_rally@yahoo.ca to register a car or purchase party tickets. Cost for a car is $60.00 and includes dinner.
Sunday August 24 – Autism Summer Picnic at the Ciociaro Club from 12:00 to 4:00 on North Talbot Road. There will be a huge Inflatable Slide, an Inflatable Castle maze, Hoops game, Big Top Toss, Ring Toss, Dunk Tank, Bowl-o-Rama, a 4-horse Pony spinner, a Petting zoo, and Trixie the Clown, Sno-kones, Popcorn, and Cotton Candy. There will be lots of food and fun, which is free to those who are members of Autism Ontario Windsor-Essex Chapter and you are also invited to bring one worker for each child with autism. Others guest will be charged $15.00 for adults and $10 for children. Children under 5 are free. You must RSVP the office at 250-1893 and if you leave a message please include how many adults and how many children will be coming.
