Highlights of Chapter Annual Plan for 2013/2014

  • Develop a multi-level vocation training for teens and young adults with ASD
  • Provide recreational activities, social skills training or teens and young adults with ASD
  • through 'Out & About' Social Club structure
  • Continue the semi-annual Bowlathon and Zumbathon for Autism fundraising activities
  • Develop contacts for promoting events and receiving sponsorship donations
  • Provide monthly parent support group meetings
  • Develop a parent mentor program in different languages in liaison with the Provincial Office
  • Continue to offer family fun events and Community Outreach Program
  • Continue to offer social skills programs, Summer and March Break camps for children with
  • Continue to build partnerships with Toronto-based service providers
  • Continue to compile and distribute weekly e-news to members and non-members
  • Maintain chapter's website, Facebook and Twitter
  • Develop printed chapter/ASD information materials
  • Build bridges with membership
  • Respond to inquiries from members and the general public looking for information or support
  • Develop a policy for subsidizing membership fees and conference attendance
  • Continue to raise awareness about Autism
  • Provide speakers, presenters, and information to community events
  • Continue SEAC representation on all Toronto School Boards
  • Continue to liaise with the Provincial Office and attend Autism Ontario Province-wide events (e.g., President’s Councils, Chapter Leadership Training, SEAC Training and Regional Meetings)
