Autism Canada has been hard at work setting up an exciting lineup for this year’s annual conference Changing the Course of Autism happening this October 9th and 10th in Burlington Ontario.  Our presenters include national and international experts in the field of autism. You may recognize some of them:  Dr. Steven Gutstein, Dr. Heather MacKenzie, Dr. Alvin Loh and Raun Kaufman, to name but a few.
 
We invite all to attend this conference in person.  This is a great opportunity for people to network, have some social time while they learn valuable information to empower them on their autism journeys.

Deficits in social skills are considered one of the defining challenges among youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), yet few evidence-based social skills programs exist for adolescents and young adults with ASD without intellectual disabilities. Using the techniques outlined in her book, The Science of Making Friends: Helping Socially Challenged Teens and Young Adults, Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson will be providing an overview of her empirically supported social skills program for teens and young adults with ASD
