Healthy Relationships Workshop

In this workshop Wes Ryan & Stephanie Moeser will discuss the topic of consent and healthy boundaries in relationships. The focus will be on how to support the understanding of healthy, safe, and mutually satisfying intimate relationships (emotional and/or physical) for autistic people and their partners. The specific nuances and social communication styles of autism will guide the discussion. The workshop recognizes the needs of all individuals including those in the LGBTQ community.

Volunteers Needed!

The Autism Ontario - Peterborough Chapter is in need of volunteers in order to continue offering support and social activities to individuals  with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families in Peterborough, Northumberland, Newcastle, Haliburton and City of Kawartha Lakes.

Our chapter is lead by local VOLUNTEERS with varying interests. It is a rewarding way to give back to your community for the betterment of families touched by ASD. It's also an exciting opportunity to become part of an education/awareness movement!

Medication Use for Autism Spectrum Disorder

We are excited to announce our upcoming webinar on Friday, March 22nd from 12pm-1pm entitled Medication Use for Autism Spectrum Disorder with Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Amanda Sawyer.

This Webinar will help parents, caregivers and people on the spectrum to better understand the prevalence of psychiatric medication use in individuals with autism spectrum disorder. It will also help caregivers of individuals on the autism spectrum to develop an approach for deciding when psychiatric medications are appropriate and aid them in evaluating the positive and negative effects of psychotropic medications.
