PEAK Rock Climbing in Lindsay

Join Autism Ontario's Potential Programme to burn off some energy on a Sunday Morning. This social learning opportunity is open to children 7-18 years with ASD and their family.

Please note you will need to register for each night individually.
** "Onsite Parent Volunteer" registration allows 1 parent and 2 children    to attend and parent will need to do onsite check-in. **

Are you between 7-18 years old? Want to try indoor rock climbing?

Then come out and enjoy this drop-in at the PEAK Indoor Rock Climbing and Adventure Centre, an indoor adventure facility where they follow a ‘challenge by choice’ philosophy. You'll be provided with adventure-based programs, activities, as well as awesome indoor rock climbing and challenges on vertical elements!!

This event is open to children with ASD (aged 7-18) their siblings/friends (aged 7-18) and caregivers only.

Spaces are limited to 20 children. Registration is required.

Registration will open at 10:30am on Wednesday September 27, 2017 and spots will not be available until then.

NOTE: Supervision of children/youth at this Social Learning Opportunity is the sole responsibility of parents/guardians and caregivers; childcare will not be provided. Parents are required to stay on site for this event, but not actually participate with their child.

Peterborough Family Gymnastics Evenings

October 21st, November 18th, December 9th 2017

Join Autism Ontario's Potential Programme to burn off some energy on a Saturday night. This social learning opportunity is open to children 0-18 years with ASD and their family.

** "Onsite Parent Volunteer" registration allows 1 parent and 2 children    to attend and parent will need to do onsite check-in. **

Join us to burn off some energy on a Saturday night. Families are invited to come and use all the equipment at Champion Gymnastics. Coaches will be on site to support, but parent supervision and attention is required. Children should come dressed in comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle and snack for after (if desired). No snacks or drinks will be provided for this event. 

There are a maximum number of 20 children able to register for this event. Please cancel your registration if you are unable to attend so another family is able to participate. Thanks for your consideration. 

Registration will open at 10am on Thursday September 7, 2017. Spots will not be available until then.

This event is open to children (0 to 18 years) with ASD, their siblings and caregivers only. This is NOT a drop-off event. Parents MUST remain onsite.

Minden Family Bowling

Join Autism Ontario's Potential Programme for an afternoon of Family Bowling. This social learning opportunity is open to children 0-18 years with ASD and their family.

Hello Minden and surrounding area! Come out and join us for 2 hours of bowling fun just for Autism Ontario!

We have reserved all six lanes for 2 hours of bowling excitement!

The Potential Programme will be providing lane rental and shoe rental.

Please note: food and drink will be at your own expense.

Registration is required.

This event is open to children (0 to 18 years) with ASD, their siblings, friends and caregivers only.

The Potential Programme has a no transfer of care policy and, as such, parents and/or caregivers are required to stay onsite for this event.

Families may be asked to share lanes.

Pumpkin Festival - Buckhorn Berry Farm

This social learning opportunity is open to children 0-18 years with ASD and their family.

This one-time trip will be fun for the whole family!!

Join us for a Pumpkin-tastic Family Fun day at Buckhorn Berry Farm!

Activities include: visit with barnyard animals,pumpkin bowling, pumpkin patch wagon rides, junior spook barn, lots of mazes, a pumpkin cannon and family appropriate Hallowe'en and Fall fun!

Check-in will occur from 10:30-11:30am - please pick-up your family's tickets within this time frame and then stay and enjoy for as long as you like (they close at 5pm!)

Please come prepared for being outside in any weather, this is a rain or shine event.

Join Autism Ontario's Potential Programme to learn how to cook some fun meals. This social learning opportunity is for          children 10 years to 18 years with ASD.

Are you between 10 and 18 years old? Want to learn how to cook some fun meals?

Then join the Potential Programme for the Peterborough Cooking Club!!!!

Elaine McCarthy, chef and cooking instructor, will show us how to make a meal and then we will share it together.

Registration is required for this club and spaces are limited, so sign-up today! This group is open to children 10 to 18 years with ASD and their siblings, aged 10-18 yrs old.

Parent/Caregiver Support Group Meeting

Please note we have taken a break for the summer and will resume meeting in the fall.

This group meets and provides a safe and supportive environment for parents / caregivers to share their successes and challenges, ask questions and connect with other parents / caregivers. This group is facilitated by Autism Ontario’s Family Support Coordinator in partnership with SnowFlake Therapy Services.

Light refreshments are provided. 

NOTE: This event is intended for adults only. 

COST: FREE

The cost of admission will be funded by Autism Ontario’s Potential Programme.
